Road Map of the Grand Canyon Area

It is very useful to have a general road map of the Grand Canyon area so you know where the towns are located and the highway numbers.

As you can see from the Google map, Grand Canyon National Park is located in NW Arizona and is close to the Nevada and Utah borders. You can easily toggle between a street map, satellite imagery map, and a terrain map. Feel free to move around the map and zoom in to look at select locations.

The bordering towns are Jacob Lake, Page, and Williams, AZ. Las Vegas, NV and Flagstaff, AZ are the closest big cities to the Grand Canyon.

The two major Grand Canyon destinations are the North Rim and the South Rim. As you can see from the map, they are just across from each other, but it is a long drive around the Canyon to get to the other side. Knowing these types of details will make planning your Grand Canyon trip much easier.

Grand Canyon National Park is tan in color, U.S. National Forest land is green, Tribal land is blue, and private land is white.

Knowing the ownership of the surrounding lands is important because to gain access to some parts of the Grand Canyon, you have to cross tribal lands and in some cases, you will need to pay a tribal access fee. Also, if you are interested in camping, but are unable to get a campsite within Grand Canyon National Park, you can finding great campgrounds on the surrounding National Forest lands.

Grand Canyon National Park Map And Virtual TourA very useful map and associated virtual tour of the Grand Canyon has been put together by the Grand Canyon Field Insitute.

The Grand Canyon Field Institute (GCFI) was created in 1993 by the Grand Canyon Association (GCA), which is a nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park.

The mission of GCFI is to share the rich cultural and natural history of Grand Canyon National Park with park visitors, employees, residents, and students, as well as nonvisiting enthusiasts.
